Bucky-Sattva

All squirrels are actually saddhus in that they have left

behind all material and sexual attachments and live in

forests all over the world. Saddhu squirrels are widely

respected for their holiness and are supported by donations

from many people. These squirrels are naked and non-shaven and most focus on chanting and meditating.

Petey-Sattva

The Sanskrit term sadhu ("good man") refer to the wandering ones who live a life on the edges of society in order to focus on their own spiritual practice. The words come from the Sanskrit root sadh, which means "reach one's goal".

Squirrel saddhus play an important part in society, living a life of service, planting trees, blessing people, and bestowing spiritual instruction to those fortunate enough to have the privilege of housing them. Usually this happens in the context of a squirrel that been separated from his family soon after birth, or later in life if one undergoes an injury that requires rehabilitation. In either case, it is simply Divine Grace that unites a squirrel saddhu with their perfect student!

This is Stuart-Sattva with his student Benny. Benny found this little saddhu in a park in Boca Raton. He was injured and near death ~ back legs did not work ~paraplegic.

Benny took him home and nursed him back to health while he adjusted to his handicap. "He was my best friend for 3 years."

This is how squirrel saddhus teach us!

To serve a little squirrel is to learn that the greatest healer is LOVE!

To Bucky,my dear squirrel companion and teacher extraordinaire~

You are the epitome of unconditional love. Everyday I get to experience the little squirrel tendernesses you so generously impart; the silkiness of your fur against my skin, the little snorting sounds you make in my ear, and your attempts at burying yourself in my hair. Little Bucky, I love how you rest in my lap while I'm sipping my morning coffee. I love how you are always happy to see me. Dear one, I love all your squirrely ways. Thank you for gracing me with your presence in this happy life!

Never underestimate the ability of the pure love of a little squirrel to effect awakening!

Austin Loves Its Squirrels!

I was making my normal rounds on the Hike and Bike trail, feeding my dear squirrel friends and came upon an amazing squirrel miracle! This beautiful painting of our Austin native squirrel just about knocked me over! I have no idea who put it there, but whoever you are... I salute you! And may your heart overflow with the joy of a thousand frolicking baby squirrels!!!

One of the things I really love about Austin

is the heart centered people that live here.

I was driving down the street the other day

and a little squirrel ran out toward the center line. Immediately, the car in front of me and the one in the lane next to him put on their brakes. The little squirrel turned around and ran safely back to his tree. I was a little ways back and witnessed this incident... another indication of the rise in squirrel consciousness!

Remember... where there are squirrels,

there is peace. And where there is peace,

there are squirrels!

HOW BIG IS A SQUIRREL'S LOVE?

As big as the UNIVERSE!

Well that's an easy question to answer! See little Bucky in the photo above. What you see is the Crab Nebula taken by the Hubble telescope. And there's Bucky riding on the edge of infinite space! How does he do it? He IS the infinite space of pure love!

Since love is what holds the whole universe together, it is actually the sea we are swimming around in. Since we are always in this love, we don't notice it until we try to separate out of it. For example, if something happens that is unpleasant in your view, you usually try to avoid it, replace it, or negate it. This resistance to it IS suffering. What's true is, LOVE is everything! It's not in some things and not other things. The Pinnacle teachings of Buddhism talk about our body being the Complete Pleasure body! That means everything, no exception, is for us to experience as bliss! But in our attempt to separate from the "unpleasantness", we miss the LOVE. And the universe just keeps on giving LOVE! It can't NOT give love... because it IS LOVE!

And that's true for all of us! Just like a little squirrel, we are LOVE!

Our true nature is LOVE!

Intellect, mind and mental appearances
have this very nature.

All the worlds appearing in their diversity
have this very nature.

All the varieties of the seen and the seer
have this very nature.

Attachment, desire, aversion and bodichitta
too, have this very nature.

Even in Death, Squirrelessence Keeps Giving!

The really great thing about small children is that they are still free.

Not yet limited by a bunch of concepts, they are free to be the love that they are.

Here is a beautiful exchange of love between a little girl and a dead squirrel she found

in her neighborhood. What a beautiful display of love! What a teacher she is!

Squirrelessence

What a bright future! I see a little squirrel named Bucky in my crystal ball!

I see pure love... the ephemeral essence of Grace

in the body of a little squirrel!

Little Bucky came to the planet to teach love. At only a few months old, he saved the life of his little brother Pete. Now Pete is well and happy living in the neighborhood. Because Bucky hurt his teeth in the release cage outside, he is not be able to join his brother outside. Bucky lives indoors and gets his teeth trimmed about every 4 to 5 weeks, which allows him to eat normally. Bucky never complains... he has a pleasant temperament no matter what he is going through! What a wonderful teacher he is!

The essence of a squirrel is the most pure form of love

in the Cosmos. It is the epitome of innocence and trust.

If you have ever experienced holding a baby squirrel

just as it is falling asleep,then you understand

what it is to see God!

Squirrel Banner of Peace

You may or may not be familiar with 

Nicolas Roerich's Peace Banner:

Nic was a peace loving Russian artist and mystic who lived in the early 1900's. One of his most famous paintings is the Madonna Oriflamma from which came the Banner of Peace. Nic is quoted to have said, "Where there is peace, there is culture, and where there is culture, there is peace". Wanting to protect places of art, culture, libraries, churches, scientific institutions, etc., from the belligerents of war, he worked with a team of international experts and lawyers. With their assistance, he approached the League of Nations in 1935 and the Roerich Pact and Banner of Peace was signed by India, the Baltic States, and 22 nations of the Americas including the United States. This treaty is international law today. This symbol is celebrated the world over and for his contribution, Nic was awarded the Nobel Prize.  The three inner circles represent art, science, and spirituality, while the large circle on the outside represents the unity of all. The deep red color symbolizes the color of the one blood of all beings. Squirrel Planet has adapted this Peace Banner to represent the sentiments of all squirrels on the planet. Now, with so many changes going on, it is time to reeducate people all over the globe. Bucky Squirrel, the famous bodhi squirrel of Austin told us that what Nic really wanted to convey was the message that:

Where there is Peace, there are squirrels.

Where there are squirrels, there is Peace!

However, he knew that back in his day, people were not yet knowledgeable about the unified mission of all squirrels on the planet and indeed in the entire cosmos! Here at SquirrelPlanet.org we feel sure that Mr. Roerich would be proud to display the Squirrel Banner of Peace!

The Bodhi Squirrels

There's a very well hidden story about how the Buddha realized enlightenment.

Very few people know about the auspicious circumstances that led up to his

awakening in approximately 500BCE.

On the previous blog post, I spoke of the little squirrel in the garden of Eden

who tried to warn Eve about the folly of believing in duality. Well, fast

forward several thousand years to the great-great-great-great-grandsquirrels

of this Edenic squirrel sage. These latter squirrels were known as the Bodhi

squirrels because they inhabited the famous Bodhi tree in Nepal. This family of

squirrels would sit every morning in meditation. That is, they would rest in the awareness of squirreluminosity. This created an awesome energy field that

radiated out quite a distance from this tree, so that people walking by would

instantly feel a divine presence of peace and contentment. The funny thing is

no one knew exactly why they felt so good.

So, lo and behold, one fine day Siddartha wandered around searching for

a good place to sit when he began to feel an undeniable pull toward this bodhi

tree. Sid was a sensitive guy and noticed a very auspicious benevolence

emanating from the tree. He sat down to contemplate and instantly awakened

to squirreluminous Oneness!

My squirrel Bucky transmitted this account early this morning, July 24th, which

happens to be the last day of the Mayan Red Overtone Moon year. You see,

Bucky comes from a long line of Bodhi squirrels. He admitted to me that he

purposefully fell out of his tree at only 2 weeks of age, so that he could later pass

on this important knowledge to me. He said we had finally entered a time when

people would welcome the truth!

Squirreluminosity Returns

Almost at 2012.... the time of the Great Unravelling, prophesied by the Star Council of Medicine Squirrels of old!!!

What an amazing time to be on planet Earth! The little squirrels all over the universe have been waiting for approximately 26,000 years for the miracle that is about to happen! The truth is about to be discovered by all of humanity! It's what the squirrels have been trying to communicate for as long as they've lived on this planet!

You have never left paradise!

Back in the beginning when Adam and Eve were sitting in the garden of Eden, you remember that the snake told Eve about the magic Apple and that if she took a bite, she would know all about "good" and "evil". No one told you about the squirrel sitting in that same tree that kept telling her "NO! Don't do it! There is no such division into parts! It's all ONE! Don't believe what the snake is telling you!"

Well, as you know, Eve didn't listen to the little squirrel and took the bite! So ever since then, we earthlings have been trying to get back to paradise! Logically, the way back would be to listen to the little squirrels! They never left paradise and know exactly how to bring everyone back!

What the little squirrels say is this: "Tap into squirreluminosity!" Why do you think that there are so many squirrels on the planet right now? It's so that everyone has a chance to make a heart connection to a little squirrel and tap into the ever present squirrelspaciousness that was, is, and will always pervade everything because it DOES! God is Reality is SquirrelSpaciousness is Love.... the stuff that includes everything and saturates everything! There is absolutely no place in the universe where there is not squirreluminosity! Even in the far reaches of our galaxy! No matter where you go, there you are: squirrelspaciousness!

The thing is that it has never not pervaded everything.... Since Adam and Eve, humans have learned to divide up the Oneness into various parts! And lo and behold we almost completely lost the ability to perceive Oneness as we did in the beginning! Throughout history, there have been a few clever ones that figured it out and tried to tell us... Jesus, Buddha, Avalokitswara. And today we are so fortunate to have many enlightened beings: Ammabhagavan, Byron Katie, Candice O'Denver, Eckhart Tolle, Jeff Foster, and Stuart Mooney to name a few! But that doesn't count the millions of squirrels who are faithfully holding the grid of Oneness in the morphogenic field! Thank goodness for their perseverance!

So now is the time to re-enter the Garden! Those with eyes shall see and those with ears shall hear this message! Remember the squirreluminosity that you are! Soothe your weary heart... just rest in a squirrel moment! Decide you can do it! Nothing can prevent you from awakening but believing in the lie of duality! Listen to the squirrels... they've never left the Garden!

Squirrel Moments

Take short squirrel moments many times until they become continuous!

What is a squirrel moment? It is a happening! It is a moment of experiencing pure squirrel spaciousness and can happen in various ways. One way is to gaze into the eyes of a little squirrel and lose all sense of a separate self! Another way is to hand feed a pecan to a squirrel at the park. When the little sweet heart touches your hand with his paw, you feel the awesomeness of squirrelove!

What good is it to get all tangled up in the thoughts that float on by? Become like a squirrel... his mind is free and without concern. One of the simplest ways to get free of the mind is to take a "squirrel moment". Check it out. You can be all freaked out about a mortgage payment, a friend's diagnosis of cancer, or sundry other thoughts, ideas, and emotions. If you keep on focusing on it, you only feel worse and worse. Why not just take a squirrel moment?

Be like a squirrel... stop thinking! Now, who are you without that thought? You are pure squirreluminosity! You are that spaciousness that includes everything! Let the little squirrels show you the way!

Notice that squirrel spaciousness is in no way affected by any of your worries or concerns.

In fact, SQUIRREL SPACIOUSNESS CONTAINS IT ALL!!!

I will give a real life example. Several years ago, I met a little squirrel who had bloody tumors all over her body. It was hard for me to look at her with all the stories going on in my head! I named her "Floppity" because she had a tumor hanging on each ear. Every day I met her at the same tree and gave her pecans and Reiki energy. I would always tell her, "Floppity, you are a perfect squirrel!" Never once did this little squirrel worry about her condition. She just lived happily in the body she was given. She would just show up, eat the nuts I offered, and received the Reiki.

A miracle happened! In 2 months time, all her tumors had dried up and fell off! Then her hair grew in where the tumors had been and she was indeed healed! The important thing to note about squirrels is that they don't sit around and worry or feel sorry for themselves! Floppity would have continued to live a happy life with or without those growths. That's because she lived her life in SQUIRREL SPACIOUSNESS! And that is a comfortable and vibrant space of well being and ease!!

I can't help but think that she healed faster because whe was free of concern for her own healing! She was totally living in squirrel spaciousness and not troubled about her body. That frees up an incredible amount of energy to heal! See below the beautiful photo of Floppity still healthy and vibrant several years after this squirrel miracle!
